Pro zinc 2x per day?

My vet has Felix on prozinc 2.5 units once per day. One week ago he tested BG and said we may have to use a different insulin two times per day. Is that true? We cannot use prozinc 2x per day? I have not started home testing due to travel but am starting tomorrow. Still unsure how to adjust dosage myself. Thanks for any help.

Prozinc should be used 2X a day. There is no insulin that works well in cats when used only once a day, they are all too short acting.

You can use prozinc for twice daily dosing. But your vet may have other reasons for wanting to switch insulins. I think I'd ask him to clarify why he wants you to switch and what insulin he's thinking of having you switch Felix to.
