Hello,
I've never posted in the group although I've been reviewing the information here for some time.
Our cat Priscilla was diagnosed as in remission last week after a week with no insulin and no numbers over a 120.
She had previously been on hills glucosupport dry food, but we recently switched her to hills glucosupport wet because she also has stomatitis, which sometimes makes her not want to eat the dry food because her gums are sore.
Over the last week and a half. I have been consistently getting readings on a human glucometer in the upper to mid-40s before time to feed her and at night before I go to bed after she's had her evening meal.
Since she is eating and has no insulin I can't find any reason why her blood sugar would be continuing to go this low. Our vet recommended I get an alpha track and try it just to see if maybe the variation between the two meters is to blame and I did, but before dinner this evening she read a 62 on the alpha track, which is also too low.
I also know that the hills glucosupport tends to be higher in carbs than some of the other meat foods recommended on this site, so I'm doubly confused.
Any advice?
