Prices going up?

What is a reasonable price for Lantus? It has always seemed expensive but my refill today has gone into the obscene territory.

My girl was first diagnosed about eight years ago. She started on PZI but it didn't work so well. Lantus was great but kept creeping up in price. In January a vial was $160. Today it was $211!! grr_red The vial used to last at least six months. Now I need them more frequently. Is it because she's older. a bad vial or who knows? Anyhow I am just shocked at the prices.
 
I was quoted between $220-$230 here in Buffalo NY. I paid $190 in October when he was diagnosed. I ended up going to Canada and buying Lantus over the counter at a drug store there for $70 USD.
