Re: OUR VISITOR SEEMS TO HAVE A SPECIAL PURPOSE :)

I am so happy! I just love heartwarming, wonderful stories and this one really has touched my heart. I really hope you get to keep him and that he becomes your mom's constant companion.

Re: OUR VISITOR SEEMS TO HAVE A SPECIAL PURPOSE :)

Awww...That is such a sweet story and can't wait to hear more.

I wish a big friendly Maine Coon would walk in my front door. :-D

Re: OUR VISITOR SEEMS TO HAVE A SPECIAL PURPOSE :)

I just teared up a little bit! Love, love, love this story.

Re: OUR VISITOR SEEMS TO HAVE A SPECIAL PURPOSE :)

well, we have a theory around our house that the minute we have a 'vacancy' Rupert or Bumley get on Craigslist and put up an ad because we always have someone move in! Polly just turned up in the basement one morning, climbed up on my shoulder (hence the name) and never left. Rupert was the neighbours cat and they moved 10 miles away.. but he didn't like it so walked back home and in thru our cat flap and sat inthe kitchen demanding breakfast! Oliver moved in right when we lost Small Gee, we had Mao who was totally wild and freaked out and living outside for about 3 years (I left food out for her but could never get close) and then one morning she too was sitting in the kitchen like she owned the place, next day she was upstairs on the bed sleeping! It's like they know where it's safe and also when we need them.

so great your have a 'therapy' cat for your mom! now you have to pick a name for him! maybe Gregory? after Dr. House... a bit of a rough tough exterior and a slightly tough go of it, but a superior doctor?!!! AND.. studies have show that the particularly odd frequency that cats purr at, has a very therapeutic and painkilling effect so if he's curled up behind June's back, purring, he's helping fix her sciatica! excellent kitty!

very cool. these animals come to us for a reason, sometimes because they need us, but more often (IMO) because we need them.. whether we realize it or not!

can't wait to see pix!

Finally!!

I got pics, but am kind of the run...
and have not ventured into the "resizing" program yet-

They're too large to post, so here's the link to the photo album :-D :-D :-D

the unamommer does have sciatica- and is on what I think are steroids   :o
(I think the med is called methyl-pred-permission-to-be-mean)

but Mr X (love the name-and i think it will stick!) is settling in beautifully,
will be vetted tomorrow-
and so far...no response on ads!!

'Roid-poppin' June likes him a lot :-D :-D :-D

Just read through this whole thread - what a fantastic story!! Love it, amazing how these cats have a sense of where they need to be.
Good luck to your mom, yeah, steroids can be tough on those around you, btdt with my MIL!

Mr. X is very handsome and looks right at home - is he still with your Mom. Sorry about her sciatica which is very painful. Sounds like she is on prednisolone/prednisone. I bet Mr. X is really a comfort to her.

Mr. X is a handsome lil devil:) Hopefully his majik presence will bring some healing energy for your mama:)

What a hunk! Tess is swooning!  I especially like the tongue shot! Paws crossed for no response to the ads!

He's a doll, isn't he?

And he stands up on his hind legs a LOT!

wish my Binksy did that :-D

He a major charmer, and he weighs 17 lbs,
but he's not overweight at all ;-)

he let me brush him this evening, too...

He's a beauty, Celi! I wonder though that he's not too matted looking for being out on his own. I hope you get to keep him for June. He does look right at home and very content.

He's gorgeous! Hope he gets a clean bill of health at the vet, and becomes a lasting, loving companion to your mom!
