Hello everyone!

I think this may be a silly question, but I figure, what the hay?! It doesn't hurt anything or anyone to ask, so I'll throw it out there. My husband and I are going on our first out-of-town trip since Lou's diagnosis. It's just a one-day overnight trip (we're going to see Matchbox Twenty and Counting Crows!! *Squee!). I don't yet have anyone to step in (he's an angel with me, but he won't even let my husband do his BG checks), so Lou will miss 2 doses. Is there anything I need to do or prep to get Lou (or us) ready for this trip?

On a slight aside: Not like it's going to change anything, but do you think missing 2 doses will completely throw off the progress he's been making? I'll start over if it does, but I'm obviously hoping it won't be too much of a mess to clean up when we finally decide to fly the coop!

Thanks in advance!

You might call your local vet and see if there's a vet tech who wouldn't mind coming by and giving those shots....they're usually happy to make a few extra bucks

IF there's no other choice and there's no history of ketones, I think you could skip without causing a lot of trouble....since you're using Vetsulin, it's an "in and out" insulin anyway, so there's no "depot" like with Lantus to disrupt

The numbers are not too high. But that just shows that you are good at regulating. One day of missed doses could cause a large rise. Sounds like a fun concert.
