Prefilling Lantus insulin syringes

So I am going out of town for a few days and my mother is going to be giving the shots to my cat for me. I was wondering if it is ok to prefill the syringes as she has a hard time seeing the units on the syringe. She will have to give him a shot Friday night, Saturday morning and night, and then Sunday morning. Thanks in advance for any replies!

It's generally not recommended because the plastic in the syringe reacts with the insulin and affects its potency

Members have recommend prefilling a syringe with coloured water (dye or tea) and then using that syringe as a comparison for when you fill it with insulin. Would your mother be able to do that instead?

We could try that, thanks for the suggestion. :)
