Is there a preferred blood glucose device? More or less a balance of convenience and accurate.
Sorry I couldn’t find this info anywhere. There are many different devices/strips and lances.

What’re my best options or where can I find that info please?

Thank-you

This is linked in a few of the “New Here” posts.

I’ve only been here a few days myself, I have seen several recommendations for the WalMart brand Relion. It’s a human glucometer, but most of the discussions here refer to human numbers because the supplies are so much cheaper. They won’t match your vet, but you can still track trends, which is important. Definitely set up your spreadsheet to start recording that info.

I first bought an AlphaTrak 2, which is pet specific. Works quickly and well and with very little blood. But it will cost about $1 per test because of how pricey the strips are.

I just ordered my own Relion glucometer today. Those tests will run about 15¢ each, and that is important to me since I’ll need to do it so frequently.

I’m sure others will chime in with their preferences. I do not yet have a preference - just sharing my crash course.
