Does anybody know where i can get some Prednisone 5 mg WITHOUT an RX on line somewhere? My cat responds well to it, and I want to get some more instead of running to my vet each time....Thanks!

If you can get your vet to write a written prescription, you can
take it to any pharmacy and get it filled.

Check with places like WalMart, first, to find out what quantity
to have it written for. Like a 90 day supply. I think pred is on their
'cheap' drug list.

I don't think pred is available without a prescription.

I think a prescription is needed, but your vet could write one that you could fill elsewhere -- ask for a 1 year supply... 5mg SID for 30 days with 11 refills or 5 mg SID for 90 days with 3 refills

BCP Vet Pharmacy in Houston makes Pred chewy treats for cats in 5 mg.

We were going to try them when we discovered Norton's intestinal cancer -- didn't have a chance to order.

I think it is on Walmart's $4 list (40 day supply, may be $10 for 90 day supply), your vet should be able to call in a prescription.

If the vet who originally prescribed it feels that your cat still needs it, the there should be no reason why he/she will not continue to Rx it.....providing that your cat has been recently examined.

Streoids are Rx drugs for very good reasons. I cringe at the idea of them ever being available without a prescription. They are over-used enough as it is.
