Pre-filling with Caninsulin

I read on one of the other boards that some insulins can be pre-filled in the syringes, but not Caninsulin. How long is too long? Is an hour ok? I sometimes fill a syringe, then go and do barn chores, and then shoot my barn cat at the scheduled time. Maybe I should try and get glass syringes if the plastic is the problem. Thoughts and advice most welcome.

AFAIK, Lantus is the insulin you should not pre-fill. Unless someone else posts differently on the Caninsulin, pre-filling for only an hour is fine ...just make sure you store it needle pointed up.
