Okay why not, the syringe cause problems?
Can cause insulin to go bad even if its in the fridge, my heavens it would be so much easier, really in the morning.

thanks for that link, sienne, i hadn't seen that before, even though i've read the rest of that page. just hadn't followed the link. that was interesting.

here's the bottom line, terri:

Summary
Aventis Pharmaceuticals does not recommend prefilling syringes with Lantus and
storing for any period longer than needed
for application. In addition BD states the
following (9): “BD does not recommend
that any of our syringes be prefilled more
than a few minutes in advance of the injection. There are no conclusive studies to
determine the safety or risks associated
with this practice.”

it might be related to the fact that the syringes have a lubricant inside of them that helps the plunger move smoothly. i'm just guessing, but it would make sense that might contaminate the lantus. we know that's the reason we don't move the dose into the syringe and back into the pen/vial in order to adjust the dose.
