Pre-filling Syringes

I will be going away for three days next weekend and have a pet sitter coming twice a day. Can I pre fill syringes for the three days/ Humulin N

Yes, with N you can but store the syringes with the needle end pointing up.

Or you can take a used syringe and fill it to the dose-line with colored water, to serve
as an example of where to fill it.

Apple juice works well for 'colored water'....just put in a drinking class in the refrigerator,
needle pointed up.

Humulin N settles and separates even in a prefilled syringe. At least it did for me...consistently. I can preload Lantus but not the Humulin.

I don't know the answer, I just know what it did when I tried it...

So....the prefill on the syringes of both Humulin AND Lantus isn't good...

Well, when all of us oldies were using Humulin N, L or U, many prefilled their syringes and had no problems. A few days using N is okay.......I would not go a week and I think maybe using a permanent marker on a syringe for the dose would work also.
