... Saoirse's eye is bleeding. Trying to get emergency appointment to see vet.

Please pray for her. I'm so scared.

Back from vets. Saoirse's had an anterior ocular haemmorhage. Her eye is all misted with blood. She was gagging/nauseated.

There's nothing the vet could do tonight. They have to do blood work tomorrow. Don't know whether it's kidney or heart-related.

She could go blind. She could have a stroke. I'm terrified.

I'm really bad with the chronic fatigue/exhaustion and the shock is pushing me over the edge. I'm afraid I will pass out. I'm so scared and something might happen to her and I wouldn't be there for her. Can anybody help me, please?

My baby ...

I can only imagine. One of my old cats had a bleed in her eye once too - it really is terrifying to see. I'm glad you have her home with you where you can watch over her - I'm sure she'll be more relaxed there with you than she would be in the hospital even though it does put pressure on you to check on her.

Im so sorry Mogs.... I am sending super positive thoughts in hopes that her eye will be ok and it is nothing serious.
Try to stay as calm as you can -- you are doing all that you can and I am sure she is more calm with you than at a strange place...:bighug:

She's not calm. She's really growly. I can't even touch her to comfort her. The vet said I have to keep her as quiet as possible.

At least you can see her and keep looking to see how she's doing. I know you're scared, but you're doing everything you can for her. I hate when vets ask you to keep them quiet - it's impossible unless the cat wants to be quiet. But she has more chance at home than anywhere else of finding somewhere she can relax. It sounds odd that she's chosen her litter box, but one of our likes to sleep in the litter box even though she's perfectly healthy - we think it's just somewhere she thinks is enclosed and safe.

Of course I'll keep you company - I've got a few hours left in me yet tonight. I'm only too happy to help.

She only ever hid once in the litter box before and that was when she was really sick with the pancreatitis.

many cats seem to find comfort in the litter box... I have no idea why.
I know it stinks when they are growly with you-- Dre loves when I make up songs and sing to him.... and I leave mystical music on they both like--very calming.

Just being there with her will be helping her. She may not be showing it right now and she might not want you to touch her, but you're her mom and she's comforted just by your presence nearby. :bighug: You've got this - really you do. And we're all here to support you as much as we can.

I sing to my 2 all the time. When they were feral as kittens it was one of the few things that would calm them down. It doesn't even seem to matter what song - I think it's the sound of your voice that quiets them down.

Saoirse has settled under the table. I think she's really scared, too. I wish I could control my fear for her sake and I'm failing miserably.

You're NOT failing at all. You're doing what you need to for Saoirse. It's OK to be scared - I'd be scared too. But as long as you're breathing and she's breathing you're both going to get through this. Do you have something like Rescue Remedy in the house - for you, not for Saoirse. Something that might help without knocking you out?
