My civvie hasn't really eaten for the past 4 days. Last night he finally ate about 1/2 cup of Dr. Elsey's Clean protein chicken dry food. But he mostly either sniffs and walks away, just licks the juice off the wet food or eats 2-3 bites. At first I thought he was upset that Claudio was gone. But it's been 4 days now !!
He also has had diarrhea all 4 days. He has had mostly loose stools to begin with. :arghh:
But he has been drinking.
I am wondering if he has become allergic to any poultry. Or if the passing of Claudio has set the possible allergy into full mode.
Seems all the food he eats has some form of poultry in it. I want to try a poultry free wet food before I have to take him to the vet.
I looked on-line and 99.9 % of the food have some form of poultry in it.
So anyone who has had to switch to a poultry free food, I'd appreciate any recommendations.
It took me months to get him to eat wet food so I'd like to keep him on wet. I only kept Dr. Elsey's dry on hand for a small bed time snack for him.
TIA

If he hasn't eaten in 4 days, please get your cat to a vet. You can risk the development of hepatic lipidosis if a cat isn't eating at least 50% of the usual calories consumed.

I have a cat with IBS who's sensitive to poultry. ZiwiPeak venison, lamb, and rabbit and lamb do not have poultry products. You may need to check on their website to see if there's a place nearby where you can purchase a couple of cans to see if your civvie is interested. If you want to buy by the case, I order from Chewy's.
