Now out of left field Magellan has very loose stools and is refusing his latter box!:mad::confused: Where did that come from and why now and how do I get him to go back a be a good litter box kitty???:banghead::facepalm:

How fast did you change the food? If it wasn't gradual, the result is often diarrhea. Switching 20-25% per day or two can be more gentle on the GI tract.
Also, batches of food can be different in composition which sometimes has the same effect as fast food changes.
There are a number of conditions which include loose stools as part of the condition.
And of course, sometimes, cats can just get GI upsets from a cold.

You may need a vet visit to rule out any medical conditions.
Meanwhile, add a small amount of plain pumpkin or squash, with nothing else but water added (no sugar, etc) or 1/4 teaspoon of plain psyllium powder to soak up the excess fluid and give the feces some form.

He has been on canned now for just over a month the only real changes have been the weather (very hot) and this new kibble/food i tried him on a bit. Fresh pet it looks promising as it says fiber 2.0% . Crude protein min 18.0% fat min 10.0% fiber max 2.0% moisture Max 65.0% Taurine min .05. What do you think??? Could this be the issue with is tummy??

Check the numbers with this online calculator and report them back here. We'll check the % of calories from protein, fat, and carbohydrate.

Food changes are notorious for provoking food refusal, vomiting, and/or diarrhea.

Experience is a h*ll of a teacher!
(I've had this happen and spent the day cleaning up from my stupidity!)

LOL now for the rug cleaning.. almost wish he did it on the tile it would be easier to clean up! But no he had to pick the nice NEW fug to do it on:arghh::banghead::mad:

i hear ya on the rug.
a few weeks ago Shadow ( we think) peed on a 3 x 5 rug ( because she won't get in her lb if she just pooed - runny poo)
I took it to the dry cleaner....
it cost me $194.
i tho't I had paid 200 for the rug but when I went and looked it up online, it was more like 400.....
but geez louise.....
i'm keeping that box scooped within minutes of her poopin ....

Yup Im just lucky that my neighbor has a steam cleaner that she was willing to let me use so that saved me much money! For a few seconds I thought how nice a fur rug would look I know bad staff but still tempting thought at times!
