Hi
When my boy was diagnosed with DM back in April we also found that his potassium levels were too low (2.3 mmol/L) so we started giving him oral potassium and he progressively began to improve. When he reached 4.1 mmol/L our vet reduced the dose to half.
Last Wednesday we went to check it again and his potassium levels dropped again to to 3.4 mmol/L even taking potassium.
Has been very difficult to regulate him and his hind legs are really weak (due to diabetic neuropathy ??? or to muscle weakness caused by low potassium levels ?????) our vet wants us to go to an endocrinologist. I already made an appointment.
What is your opinion about this?
