? Possibly syringe feeding Jester tonight - suggestions?

Back in August, Jester had a bout for ten days where he barely ate anything and I did some syringe feeding to help him through.

I had some Rescue (high fat, low carb) food to work with then, but don't have any currently. I'm waiting to hear from the vet about possibly buying a few cans. (I'm kicking myself because I had one can leftover that I opened a couple of weeks ago just to see if he would eat it - he didn't - and had to throw the rest away.)

Does anyone have any suggestions of what to give him? (I have a doctor's appointment for myself right after work and the vet's office will be closed by the time I'm done. )

Should I just puree some standard cat food with a bit of water for this evening? I seem to remember doing that with my previous kitty when I had no clue what I was doing.
I think I *may* have one jar of baby food from back in August (no onions) but not sure if it's past the use by date. Should I get a couple more jars and use that?

When jI have to syringe feed mine, which I do occasionally, I just use regular pete cat food. I use a feeding syringe with a larger tip bore than either a catheter tip or luer tip (accept regular needles)

Any soft food that you can puree with some water should be okay. Good appy- and get better vines for Jester, (((hugs))) for you!

He ate some YAZ tonight but all I have are samples and after about 2.5 tablespoons he stopped eating that.

So I've been giving him syringes of baby food tonight. I'm supposed to pick up a few cans of Recovery prescription cat food - I referred to it as "Rescue" before.

All of this helped him get through the last time he stopped eating back in August. Hoping all he needs is some time.

Gracie isn't eating much lately. My kitty sitter (who also has a diabetic cat) suggested I get Hill's A/D wet food. You have to get from a vet. It's supposed to taste real good.
Gracie ate some this morning. It was pretty soft. Carb content wasn't low, but not much I can do about it. She gots to eat.

It made her poo stinky (high fat content I assume) . Anyway worth a shot maybe?

If you lived closer I'd drive a can to you.

Sadly, the vet gave me a can or two a while back and Jester said no. I wound up giving it to one of my civvies just so I didn't waste it.
Jester is freakin' picky about foods.

That's very sweet of you. CA is indeed pretty far from PA. *g*
