I remember you!! This is very timely information for me since I was mad at my vet this morning!! Thanks for posting - made me walk in his (or her) shoes for a moment!

Sorry, to be clear, my vet friend wasn't the one who wrote the blog, she found it and posted on another website. My vet, who is also a friend, has been affected by nasty clients.

Over the years this MB has seen stories of some bad vets, but also lots of nasty vet bashing. I've no idea what its like now but I wanted to remind people about the power of the writen word, and the fact that vets go into the profession because they love animals :)

Thank you for sharing that story, Jen. It is thought provoking, and eye opening. I also send my condolences for Shirley's family. I believe in karma... What goes around, comes around. Those cyber bullies will get theirs. Eventually.

Need to write again! Although, I believe, that we can all behave like jerks at times, those vicious people behaved in a criminal manner. Hope they face criminal consequences.

What a heart-wrenching story... such a sad ending.
I can't even imagine yelling at a vet and I have had some pretty clueless ones.
 
I was in the vets office a couple years ago and a lady came with a couple cats and she was in the room screaming at the vet tech at the top of her lungs. I could hear it all the way out in the waiting room. Something about she could not bring her cat in again because it needed to be sedated or something like that.
Needless to say I felt so sorry for the vet tech, it was at the end of the day. I don`t know what people are thinking.

I think all pet owners should read this.

Being a vet can be a very isolated & emotional profession. Dealing with animals in distress is one thing, but dealing with ungrateful, negligent & aggressive owners is another thing entirely.

We need to look after them just as much as they look after our animals.
