Poop outside litter box

This is not typical of my Pepper at all. Is it normal for a newly diagnosed sugar baby that has been on Novolin-N less than a week to have a large poop (formed) outside of a clean litter box? Thanks
 
My Silver does this often since diagnosed (hrs on Lantas). I just put a puppy pad outside each litterbox and he goes on that.
 
Just going to throw this out there, but is the box big enough? Some kitties need those large boxes that are low and easy to get into. Ours is the same way. He has a bit of arthritis and is just a bigger than normal cat. A larger, lower box solved (most - IBD comes with "i can't get in there in time") of our problems.
 
Good idea - but I do think pooping outside the box is a symptom of another problem. My cat pooping outside the box prompted me to test him after he’s been in t mission for four years and sure enough he was back in high numbers.

I've had this with my old puss & put it down to age, smells , error in aim and stance & that the weather was inclement. He did this a fair few times before diabetes diagnosis. He is an indoor / outdoor cat . We spread a plastic bin liner under and around the tray(s) and hope to catch any untoward moments that way.

I wonder if when they 'feel' a bit different in themselves , it messes with their spacial awareness. He thinks he is in the right position when he is not.

I hope it sorts itself for you all soon. I know it isn't nice and a bit worrying.

Husband said she slept a lot today. Didn't really want to eat much, and just seemed sad. When I got home, she ate like a hog. Her numbers are high. We are trying to get them regulated. I have been with her for the past 4 days, today, back to work and she is home with him all day. Maybe she's mad at me for leaving. I've put in a call to the vet this am and they never called me back yet regarding a possible dose or insulin change. This insulin hits her fast and doesn't last until the next dose.
 
Monster misses the box (it’s a big litter box) sometimes...half in and half out. :banghead:
Over the last couple months, he had some anal gland issues resulting in random turds around the house. o_O It’s almost like he didn’t have control of his anal sphincter. Thankfully, his situation has improved.

Prior to his diagnosis, the missing of the box issue was more prevalent and he was having diarrhea....not cool. It was like he just couldn’t make it to the box.

I line the litter box cave with puppy pads to catch any missed turds or erroneous urine spray. The pads have been a lifesaver!
