HELP +1 129 +2 at 8:30pm 244 +3 at 9:30pm back DOWN 140 +4 at 10:30 329!! Amethyst can not eat anything dry without it raising her numbers:cat: THANK YOU EVERYONE:bighug: +6 at 12:30pm 177 +7 at 1:30AM 179 +9 at 3:30AM 334!!

Do you have any honey or karo? You can try putting a drop or two on her regular food and feed a teaspoon of it.
 
Sometimes kitties nadir up to +15 on Levemir. Don't fill her up, she's still in safe numbers but good idea to slow her down. My Doodles had a strong reaction switching to Levemir too. Hopefully she'll surf now.

Remember, the typical onset for Lev is around +4 with nadir between +8 and +12 unless there is momentum which they can nadir even later. ETA: it'll take you a while to learn what Amethyst's patterns are the above is just an example.
 
Not sure why HC was recommended. You usually keep that for under 67 on AT. I'd rather you saved her happy in case she really needs to eat.

Can you pick one thread and update the subject line to say the other is inactive?

Also, can you update the subject line to add the +2 to which one you want to continue using? I'm glad she came up for you.

That was a big rise for just a treat. Either the +1 was the nadir and she was rising or it was a bad reading. Check at +3 just in case and then go from there. If she's still the same or rising then you can go longer between testing tonight. Also, please take the 911 down when you get a chance.
 
I'm going to tag @Jill & Alex (GA) to see if she can merge the two threads. It's just too confusing to try to keep track of which one is active.

Pamela, I know you were scared, but in future, please don't start a second thread. Simply change your subject line to reflect your new situation when you have an issue and want eyes on you.

Sorry to be a pain in the neck but can you update the subject line to "PMPS 244 +1 129 +2 244" it's easier for everyone to keep an eye on you :)
 
I am glad Karen and her Levemir knowledge was around to guide you. Next time you see a number that is such a fast drop like that, test a second time to make sure it wasn't a wonky test. But as Karen said, some Lev kitties can nadir late. I once spotted Neko's Lev nadir as late as +15 (3 hours into the next cycle). And it would be pretty cool if Amethyst saw a low blue like that. :cool:

Looks like she's back to blue as the HC wore off. :)

I know BUT is she going to keep dropping??:oops:
 
Since it's the first day on Lev I'd go ahead and get a +4. When does she usually eat her next meal? It's unsure what she'll do. Maybe rise at +4, stay flat, or could be a long night.

She will eat her next meal at 5:30AM But what I have been doing is when I get her up during the night to test her I give some Hand Flaked Treats that she loves
