OK--I know we are super new to hometesting, so I'm wondering what these #'s mean?
First test was thurs night
+2 80
they only ate the d/m kibble overnight and 1/2 can FF chicken
amps 66
DID NOT SHOOT
+6 88
pmps 138
DID NOT SHOOT
I'm too afraid to give him insulin, his numbers are just too low. Hope I made the right call.
He's not eating much of the wet food, but did eat 1/2 of a tuna FF appetizer today and all of the d/m.

I will do a curve this weekend. Is it every 2 hours that I test?

It will be 2 weeks tomorrow since he had the serious hypo, I'm wondering if his P is working again? I know its probably too early to tell.

Re: PMPS 138 Did not shoot--? numbers?

definitely not high enough to shoot insulin on at this point. good call.

i have to run out the door but you are doing good. hopefully someone is still around to answer your Pancreas questions. i'll try to get on when i get home if i don't conk out first :)

Hi Jen

u may want to put Humulin N in ur subject line to attract Humulin users.
as for the curve, every 2 hours will give u excellent data or every 3 hours is good too.

Thanks ladies--you've been a BIG help this week! :-D

I might have to miss one of the 2hr tests tomorrow--is there a better part of the curve to skip? Earlier/later?

Gotta go to petco and stock up on healthy food and treats, since my little town has such a small selection. Walmart doesn't carry much, grrrh!

Working too much for the next week, so tomorrow is the best I can do with everything.

that shouldn't matter tomorrow, especially if he's not high enough in the morning to get a shot. if he's not high enough for a shot, i'd probably only go for pre-food, and maybe an hour or two after each meal to see what the food does with the BG levels and if the pancreas kicks in and brings him down on it's own.

if he is high enough for a small shot (remember you don't want to give much at all given that no one really knows what's in that vial you have) then i'd test every couple hours for roughly 12 hours
