Started off this AM hacking up a hairball  and wanting badly to go outside.........poor boy.

I just realized that he won't be able to have him PM dose tomorrow night as we are leaving tomorrow at 3:30 until late. My SIL is taking care of my mom but no way will she test let alone shot. It is what it is.

Vines to all Kitties and Beans in need.

+6 = 61 Had a difficult lunch. Offered him beef and he hasn't had it in a while. Within 10 minutes he threw it up right after I got his 61 test result. Ran to the basement and hid. Finally got him to eat some YA. Momma was a bit nervous about that.

No more beef. The first time I gave it to him he did the same thing and then I slowly increased amounts of it in his poultry until he could eat the whole serving of beef without an issue. It seems silly to have to do that every few months when I give him beef. =

Shoes does the same thing with beef. I just decided it's not worth it and removed it from his food choices. Glad Bubba is working the juice so quickly for ya!

I really feel like it's not a species appropriate food choice anyway. The only reason I gave it was for some different amino acids that poultry doesn't have . Not any more

How do the peeps here feeding all raw steer? I went to all raw while he was almost OTJ. Luckily, I had some FF + Kitten Salmon Feast, so gave a 1/4 can of that. But, what if you don't want to give canned food? How do you boost?

You can either add a small drop of honey, syrup or karo to his regular LC, or cheat and do canned. I had some of the Weruva Cats in the Kitchen pouches around. You could try making your own slightly higher carb food with potatoes or rice and starchy veggies such as sweet potato, but I wouldn't know what the carb count is.

I had another thought while sweeping the driveway. :) Take a look at raw dog food - droolers are omnivores and usually the raw dog food is higher carb. More important, you might be able to get the nutrional breakdown and find the carbs %. The trickier part with that is that unless you have it thawed out already, there can be a delay. So either get smaller nuggets, or if you feed your droolers raw, just swipe some of theirs.

Reducies for Bubba are now under 40.

If you look at commercial raw foods, there are a variety of carb amounts. Especially if you look at any of the freeze-dried raws. You could just keep a MC or HC commercial raw on hand if you need to steer and don't want canned. If you go with a frozen version, some of them also come in small pieces that thaw pretty quickly.

Thanks Djamilia. He really enjoyed the FF last night but, I just hate giving it to him. I will look into the commercial frozen raw. Hope they give the carb count on the packaging.

Primal has it on their website. Stella and Chewy's of course, hides theirs and you have to write to the company and ask for it - however, that's the company that is highest in carbs, so it's probably the better route. I keep their Salmon and Chicken in my hypo kit since it's higher carb than some kibbles.
