Pls advise- Lolly’s been OTJ 3 years, but odd symptoms starting

Hi, Lolly became OTJ 3 years ago thanks to TR and this forum. I’ve tested her once a month for past year, she’s consistently been in 50’s 4-6 hrs after eating. I use a Confirm human meter. Tonight I noticed her pawing at the water bowl and drinking a ton of water. I immediately tested her, got 38. She ate 5 hrs before. This is low for her. I tested myself, on target, then tested her again, still got 39.

I’m supposed to leave for 4 days on Sunday, cat sitter coming over today. Really worried. Any idea what could be going on? She is 15.

It is possible it could be her kidneys. I'd get the vet to do a blood test to check how her kidney function is. Also get her thyroid function tested.
I would not be concerned about the BSL at 39......If she is not on insulin that is a fine result.

Oh no. Thank you for responding. She seems fine now, stopped the drinking, I’m hoping it can wait till Thursday. A friend of mine is coming in 2 x a day to feed and check in her. I’ll call her vet Monday.

It is possible that it may be nothing so don't worry too much. Wait and see what the vet says.
