I had another earlier post last week.....

My baby Ozzie has been limping around for over a week now. I took him last Tuesday to the vet. They weighed him, and he's lost 2lbs since his June annual visit. He had no fever at that time either. They did bloodwork, all of which came back perfect. He still wasn't better last week so I took him to the vet Friday. When he was there Friday, he was running a fever so was sent with antibiotics. They really didn't seem to help much, so I took him yesterday for x-rays of his pelvis and leg.

Got the xray results today, and the confirmed he hurt his knee a while ago like an ACL tear ( he was limping in June) and has some arthritis developing. What's concerning is they inadvertently captured the lower part of his lung, and there was something concerning(not sure what, if it is a mass or not). I am taking him back tomorrow for chest x-rays. I am praying it isn't something in his lungs. My bubby is a diabetic in remission and also an asthmatic which got him to the diabetes due to the steroids prescribed. I did notice him having asthma attacks over the past few months, and they were not that serious so I didn't think anything of us. Of course I am beating myself up wondering if I should have brought him in.

This is my baby... I've had him for 13 years. He's the most important thing to me.. I've been an absolute nervous wreck since all this began. Not to mention I have been battling depression the past few months. This would just kill me if I lose him. I have been trying so hard to get myself better..... It's also killing me to see him not feeling well.

Just reaching out here to ask for some prayers for my baby tomorrow that his xrays come back without anything bad.

I am not good at advice or information, as am having a difficult time learning what to do that's best for my own baby. But I am very experienced and good at prayers, so please know that you and Ozzie are in mine. Best wishes to you and your fur baby as you go through this very stressful time. Thinking of you both and asking God to hold you close.

So sorry for your sadness and worry, Vivian.

I hope you find that you and Ozzie can muddle through this latest ailment to share more years together. Please know that we are here for you and praying for you and Ozzie. Big hugs....

well.......took him for his xrays. I knew it was going to be bad when they didn't take me to see the film.

My baby has a mass in his lung. My heart is breaking to know that our days to hgether are numbered. Vet is talking to oncologist tomorrow. I was given metacam for him to make him feel better. Has anyone used it? I hear some scary things about it but the vet wants to wait on the predisone to talk to the oncologist.

Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers. Hard to believe that my time is limited. If theres anyone on here who has gone through similar, it would be helpful to get some advice.

Metacam can cause kidney problems i overdosed and has a black-box warning for cats.
As an end-of-life pain med I would use it.

I had to say goodbye to my Thunder because of a lung tumor.

Sorry for your bad news... Praying you and your kitty find calm and serenity in the coming time you have together.

Sending prayers......to you for courage and strength and to Ozzie , that he is comfortable and peaceful in the loving hands of his mom.

Vivian, I am so very sorry to hear this news about Ozzie.
I wish you strength and peace.

I was prescribed Metacam for 2 of my kitties and used it with no problems (but I understand that it does need to be dosed cautiously).
It may well make Ozzie more comfortable.

Sending you a huge (((hug))),

I just stumbled upon your post and am so sorry to hear about Ozzie. Lots of love and peace to you.

I am not an expert, but I know that others have suggested buprenorphine as an alternative to metacam.

Buprenex or Tramadol might be better choices....

I use bupe on mine. We use the smallest dose because my cat has difficulties with pain meds. But it takes the edge off.

I'm so sorry.
Sending prayers....
