Same here by it was me who the only one but in 4 counties, I was BUSY after hurricanes with baby squirrels. I LOVE opossums! Everyone~~ for the record, opussum can NOT carry the rabies virus, their body temp is to low for the virus to live. Only time is if they are sick with a fever. only 11 have had rabies in 162 years
they also do not carry distemper. they dont chase people down and bite. They open their big mouths to show all their teeth and are scared, they are shy and like to run away.Of course if you corner them they react like everything (even people) that are corned & scared!
So later today I will write up my experience at the vet office. After I do, need ya'll to tell me if I should write the vet. If it had been any other person w/o any experience my skittles would be dead right now. I tend to second guess myself on my own babies on what I do know
