I have to look carefully to see it. But then I wipe the "sample" with some toilet paper and I can see that there is blood there. It is not a lot, but it seems to be strictly on the outside of the stool....and again, it's not extremely noticeable but it is certainly there.
Ok then it's probably minor abrasions... They will heal. Glad he's pooping again.

Is there any mucus coating the stool? That may signify GI irritation.

Good that Dennis is pooping nonetheless.

Are the stools large and hard? If yes, perhaps talk with your vet about perhaps giving a small course of Miralax; it softens the stool without making it bulky and that might be easier for Dennis to pass while any potential lower GI tract mild abraisons to get a little time to heal.

No mucus so I think that's a good sign!
They aren't large or too hard. They're definetly more firm than they should be but they are not rock hard. If they get any more difficult to pass I'll certainly give him some Miralax. He's had that in the past and it's worked well for him. I think the pumpkin is helping slightly. Glad to hear that everyone here seems to think this is all just because he needs to heal.
