Hi all,

I just bought few cans of EVO canned food (95% Chicken & Turkey - Cat Food) recently.
But I noticed there are some "black bits" :o inside the canned food on the latest batch, best by date 08/19/15 .
I already open 3 cans also have "black bits".

I brought it before for my diabetes cat. There are no such thing.

Anyone can advice what is the actual ingredient of these "black bits"??

Thanks.

I've always wondered about this, too! The Friskies Special Diet (Turkey&Gibletd) I buy always has black bits! I figured it was some type of unidentifiable, ground-up turkey bits. (That is, if we have the same black bits we're seeing.)

I just started using Evo and I have not seen any black bits. I did notice that yours looks different, ours looks more blended almost more of a paste consistency.
Try contacting Evo.

That does not look normal to me. I suggest contacting the company, showing them the photos and bits and asking them directly what this is. They may tell you that it is ok and they may not.

I stopped using this brand years ago, when I found chunks of potato in it and complained, sent them the chunks and cans in question and they told me that it was normal....uh hello potatoes didn't belong in EVO 95%.

If nothing else, take it back to the store and ask for a refund. You may even want to try a different flavor, such as turkey or rabbit and see how those are.

Contact the manufacturer; there could be a batch problem.

Hello to all members,
Thank you for all your advise.
I'm live in Malaysia. I already email to the official EVO in usa on 21January and they shared my question and pictures to my country distributor of this brand to assist me.
They said they need time to collect it back all the EVO 95% canned cat food from the pet shop I purchased it for checking. Still waiting for their reply.

In malaysia there are very few brand of canned cat food that is suitable for diabetes cat. Now i giving my cat eat Canned Evo Cat & Kitten canned food instead of EVO 95%.

To Larry and Kitties: the "black bits" is soft.
