PJ was at 170 this morning - she hasn't had any insulin since Friday morning and I hated to give her any but she's still far from a normal BG so I gave her .25u. We'll see what she does tonight...
 
It is great that she came down on her own for pmps. Looks like her pancreas is waking up - we call it "Mr. P making a visit"

I like the .25 dose this am. Can you check her around nadir?
 
I can't - back at work today. I've always been confused about nadir - how to you know when to test as the lowest point could be at different times on different days, right?
 
With ProZinc, nadir is often between 5-7 hours after the shot. But yes, it does change in some cats; some cats are pretty consistently low at the same point in each cycle. The only way to find out is to do a curve - which you did - but because it was without insulin, it is hard to get much from the numbers. You can also get a number in that 5-7 range over a few cycles and see if there is a pattern.
 
Oh okay - maybe this week I could get it in the evening. I usually test her and then feed everyone by 6:00p and I could check her at 11p...that would be 5hrs. If that's long enough after shot and 'if' I give a shot.....
