I am hoping that I am expecting too much at this point.
He had has 2 full days of an AB...pretty sure day 1 dose never fully made it in.
He seemed a little bit better to me this am.
Ate some FF appetizers and even caught him nibbling on the kitten's food.
BUT...then he hasn't eaten ALL day. And is just laying in the same spot on my bed.
How long does it typically take for these kittys to bounce back from a nasty infection?

Good news...just too BG and it was 95.
Hope that means the AB is starting to work.

I think giving him his meds totally stresses him out. Plus probably does nothing good for his appetite.
I put a call in to the vet to possibly get some subcutaneous AB's....
Any idea the price of these??

Also, we know he has an infection SOMEWHERE...just don't know where.
Have any idea of a broad spectrum antibiotic that is administered subQ?

I am completely stressed :YMSIGH:

I think it can take a few days before it makes a difference.. could this be pancreatitis?

Any way of telling without doing the blood test for it?
Don't think that the specific tests were done for it. Just had the CBC and Chem Panel done.

ABs may cause GI upset.
FortiFlora or other probiotic given a couple hours after the AB may help with that, as may something for nausea, such as 1/4 tablet Pepcid AC.

I think that this morning I am convinced it is GI upset from the AB's.
He ate a bit last night and this morning 1/2 can FF.
He seems a bit better, more alert.
I know if I give him the AB now, he will be ion my bed all day.
Waiting to hear from the vet about SubQ AB's.

Although Pepcid is a great idea, and I have also thought of it, he is so aggressive and almost impossible to pill.
