Well, I took Pixie to the vet this afternoon.
He is eating a little, but still pretty much just laying around.
Afternoon Bg was 174

His white count was extremely high 47.21 k/ul
(his white count was 32k/ul when diagnosed with diabetes in July)

NEU 35.56 k/ul high
LYM 9.40 k/ul high
MONO 1.74 k/ul high
GLU 198 mg/dL high

Those were the only elevated levels.
Vet seems to think there is an infection somewhere...put him on antibiotic, which I cannot even get him to eat.
My husband and I tried to get it in his mouth and I thought he had it down, then spit 3/4 of it back up.
Assuming it is very bitter tasting the way he is drooling.
Will try to crunch it up in his food.

Any help getting him to get these meds down, please and what you interpret from these high levels.

Lymphoma was mentioned, but he doesn't exhibit any respiratory problems.....

**Also going to post on the health board**

Don't put it in his food. It will make his food taste terrible and you may create a food aversion. Either use a Pill Pocket or a blank gelatin capsule. The allergy formula Pill Pockets are diabetes "friendly" and you can find them with the dog products. This is a link for empty gelatin capsules. (You may be able to get blank capsules at a pharmacy.) You can also try shoving the pill into some cheese or a piece of chicken. My concern, though, is if Pixie bites down on the pill, he's not going to be happy. You may also want to get a pet piller. The big box pet stores often have these in stock. It allows you to get the pill at the back of the throat so it's swallowed (and you don't lose a finger).

This definitely sounds like an infection and an infection will cause a rise in BG numbers. My best suggestions are to keep checking on Pixie for ketones especially if he's not eating well. Do what you can to get food into him. My hunch is that once the AB kicks in, his numbers will come back down.

Sending anti-infection vines to Pixie. Good luck with the pilling. We have used a piller, be sure to follow with syringing some water so the pill gets to his stomach and not stuck in his throat. Here are some tips from Dr. Lisa.

Jupiter was on Antibiotics and we also had a hard time giving him the pill as well as getting him to eat. If pixie will eat pill pockets I would recommend trying those first. If those dont work, I have lots of other suggestions you can try!

-wrap in lunchmeat
-put pill in the smallest piece of pill pocket possible. Dip the pill pocket into water (I dipped it into the juice from his FF appetizer) and then roll the pill pocket into some crushed up pieces of a favorite treat such as freeze dried chicken crumbs, crunch up another favorite treat, or bonita (tuna) flakes.

if those dont work let us know and I can try to explain the easiest way to give the pill by hand.

To get pixie to eat you can try:
-sprinkling some treat crumbs on top of food
-Fancy feast appetizers - Jupiter loves FF appetizers, extra special treat to entice kitty to eat, and they are LC!
-treats on food - I would put a few freeze dried shrimp on his food and he would try to dig them out to eat them and in the meantime he was eating some of the LC pate food
-beechnut baby food (make sure you get the one that just says like chicken and chicken broth or turkey and turkey broth. they are the little jars of food. make sure no other ingredients.
-try feeding by hand... I was given this suggestion by someone else and didnt think it would work but to my surprise it did... I took a FF appetizer and would take a piece of tuna out and he would eat from my fingers. Its worth a try!

Goodluck!!

Sending many prayers and vines for Pixie!

Pix ate a bit of tuna for me tonight. I will just keep offering food whenever he is willing.
I think his BG was about 174 tonight...I will have to check and record later.
I think once we can get a few of these pills into him his appetite will come back.
He is an EXTREMELY aggressive cat when it comes to be poked and prodded.
I may end up in the ER with a missing or lacerated finger....he is that mean.

Someone suggested an oral syringe, crushed up pill squirting on the side of his mouth...maybe if I do this with some tuna water or FF juices....
just don't want him to spit it out.
I will try anything...even taking him to the vet EVERYDAY so they can give him his pill @-) @-)
