Carl & Polly & Bob (GA)

Guest
Earlier, when I was replying in Kim's thread, I took down a box of old photos. In the pile were "Bob the Kitten" pics, and I wanted to share...
Thank you Kim, it was the first time I've looked at the old photos in a long, long time.

Bob then:

He was a very cute kitten! Oh Bob how you have grown into a handsome cat.
Did the cats get into the toilet paper? to funny!

Thank you for sharing the pictures.

Yes, they had the roll in three different piles in the house. When the 2nd pile started, we just let them have their way and sat back and laughed!

Carl

what a cutie - Carl is he missing his tail? We had a cat that lost a tail to a racoon fight when I was a kid. Love the toilet paper game - what fun

Yes, Ellen, he was born with just that stub which we always called the "nubbin" 5 kittens, two had tails, three had just the stub.
Hence the name, "bob" although his formal name is "Roberto"

Carl

I LOVE the "formal name" thing! We've got a few "extended" names

Mardi - born on a Tuesday (French)
Wally Wally Washington
You won't be able to pronounce Paulo's full name - he's named for my best friend from college - and his secretary couldn't even pronounce it! It's Lithuanian!
Tedi - Teadora
Franki - Francesca
Palmer Olive ("Palmolive")
Stanley Grady (a friend's son helped name him)
Dom (dog) is Domenico - I got him on a Sunday! - Italian... but Summer gave him the Greek god's name of "Dominicus" - sounds SO impressive!
Jack (dog) - Jumpin' Jack Flash! (who used to hurdle the 52" tall gate!) Now he's referred to as a "Tootsie Roll w/ legs... time to get back walking with my neighbors!

My neighbor has a couple of bob-tails. Very cute!

Benny got his first name because he needed a formal name to go with his tux. My best friend started inventing names when he got in trouble (you know you're in trouble when.mom.cranks out your full name); we finally settled on his full name.

Cass needed a name to match, but we thought he was a girl (so Cassandra got changed).

Benjamin Bradley Balthazar Buford Bartholemew Brat, and
Cassidy Casper Cassius Charlie Chrisropher Cat.

Both, of course, also have multiple nicknames.

Well, Robbie hates it when I tell anyone but his full name (on his papers) is Gingercats Sir Rob McLaughlin - after a character in a romance novel the breeder was reading when he was born - mostly I call him Stinky ;-)
Really interesting he was born with a nubbin... more interesting others in the litter were too- so he's a real Bob Tail Cat!

I feel neglected! My cat is just named....... Kitty!!!!

Love the pictures Carl!

Awww Baby Bob was a cutie. He sure did make up for being the runt.

Fun with TP, life for a kitten doesn't get any better than that.

Yes, he more than made up for it. Just before Lillian (the other TP theif in the pic) went the the bridge, she was around 10-11 pounds, while runty Bob at that point tipped the scales at 18! He still looks plump at 14, but the vet is happy with that weight. Bob isn't! He insists I am starving him

of course you're starving him Carl - at around 19 lbs Robbie totally back's Bob up - starvation it's what we beans do...

Cedric is right there with them. He gets on the counter at night and I think he cries for more food (cans are in the cabinet above).
Love the pics carl! too cute. Gues you survied TS alberto? MustLoveCats emailed me to say that we were right and she's going to wean her Sebastian off dry. got him under 300 right now. I told her to post here.

That's great! Looking forward to her posting here, Jesse. Oh, did you see the turtle pic I posted from Fripp?

Yes, completely dodged the TS Alberto bullet here. It rained overnight, and there were big enough waves for the surfers to come in droves, but otherwise, nothing.

What's incredible is that I didn't even know there was a TS out there until after I got to work yesterday morning and some camper came in and asked me "what's that Tropical Storm doing?" I was like "what storm? I didn't even know there was one!" I guess I need to put a "Hurricane Tracker" app back on my phone!

Carl

Yes I did! My aunt & uncle are back from India and were out riding their bikes on the island after the storm passed. Gary likes to ride his bike - I htink he is planning another cross country ride. He works for United health Care now. BTW "bike" means bicycle.... :-D

Since hurricane season doesn't "officially" start until next Friday, I was just as surprised to hear thre was a storm off the coast last weekend! I'll be the surfers were peeing their pants to get to those waves!
