Did I do the right thing yesterday by waiting an extra hour to give Phoebe her insulin or should I of shot her then at a lower unit?

Phoebe tends to be a little less predictable than some of the kitties around here, so it's hard to say for sure. Ideally, you want to be able to shoot on lower numbers without reducing the dose much. That's what starts to bring the PS numbers down and gives you better duration on the insulin. However, my hunch is that if you had tried to shoot on a 127, Phoebe would have gone too low. If it was me, I think when you got the 233, I would have gone ahead with 2.25u instead of reducing. But it's tough when you're at work all day. It would have been a bit of a gamble, and we do aim for safety when no one is around to give extra food. So while it wasn't ideal, I do think you made the right decision yesterday.

Since you got nearly the same PS today and gave 2.25u it will be a good day to get a couple of tests in around her usual nadir time to see how she does with it. Then you can use that information if she does this again this coming week.

It looks like the insulin keeps her numbers down through +11-+12, and then falls off pretty quickly, so you may start seeing more of those lower PS numbers.

Djamila has given you good advice. Teasel is very unpredictable and I often resort to fat and skinny doses instead of full 0.25 u changes because too much of anything (dose change, frequency of dose change) will send him skyrocketing. You might find a use for fats and skinnies with Phoebe at some point. :)

I like the increased number of yellow PSs recently!
