Pet vs. Human meters

Hello All, I know that the trend is that we can't compare them, just use one and follow the protocols ....I know that the protocols have been written using human meters (let's suppose the human ones all show the same numbers).......but my feeling is that the difference between the human meter (ReliOn, Freestyle, etc.) and AT2 pet meter is bigger than 1 unit European (or 18 in USA numbers) - as shown on the protocols.
If anybody have some BG numbers taken with both type of meters and will like to share, I would appreciate......I'd like to crunch some numbers for myself.
Thank you.

FWIW - human meters do not all read alike. I used the Freestyle Lite to start, then switched to the Bayer Contour, then the Relion Confirm. I did some cross comparisons and their numbers were not the same, but usually "close". They were farther apart in higher numbers where it doesn't really matter.

You might be interested in this post by Jill, which blasts the myth of AT and human meters being 1 (18) points apart. Summary, pick one meter and stick to it - or you'll drive yourself crazy. And know thy cat.

Thank you, Ladies.
If we consider the BG numbers for Human meters correct (as we should do), that means poor Toro navigated on some uncharted territories/low numbers during the past few months......luckily he's fine. :)
Good enough for us.
The people posting on this forum are amazing.

For the "7 days of green" reductions (7 days below 100), I go with 7 days below 150 on the AT2. I might get flamed for that. I often just take off 33% of the AT2 number to compare it to a human meter rule. Except for that 68 at the bottom.

Will, i did a lot of comparisons but i gave up because the difference are not the same everytime

What imean that one day i can get 114 on human meter = 140 on AT, and other days 114 on human meter= 150 on AT.

It is hard to tell and to compare even with low numbers on human meter the difference is more or equal 18 points sometimes.

So as long as i am green on human meter i know that i am safe and if i get 120 on human meter i know it would be above 150 on AT which is the normal BG.
