Greetings all and good health to you and your kitties!

Has anyone tried Periactin (cyproheptadine) for sneezing and head congestion?
Good results?
Tried the rest including Zyrtek with no luck to this ten year problem.
Early on it was Depo and Convenia every six months or so and sometimes Zeniquin and always Pred when all else fails.
Thanks

Like Larry said, cyproheptadine is used as an appetite stimulant and not so much as an antihistamine in cats. It's not even used that much as an antihistamine in humans anymore. (It's used as an anti-anxiety medication.)

If your cat isn't responding to antihistamines, maybe the problem isn't allergy. Some cats are prone to an upper respiratory problem at the change of season. L-lysine is an immune system booster. Have you tried running the shower so the bathroom is steamy and leaving your cat in there to see if the steam helps to break up the congestion.
