Pepcid use

Hi,
It sounds like Pepcid is helpful with pancreatitis. Can anyone tell me dose(1/4 of 10 mg?)' when it's given and if there is any downside to trying? Also, what about Pepcid AC? What does the AC mean? Should I use it or a different Pepcin?

Thanks.

With food, without food, any time or specific time. What is b.i.d and s.i.d?

Get the regular Pepcid AC 10mg strength
Cut the pills into 4, and you can give 1/4 BID.
I gave first thing in the morn because stomach upset was present.
SID is single dose, once a day
BID is two doses, twice a day, usually at shot times, 12hrs apart
TID is three doses, three times a day, and many who use PZI insulin need to dose every 8hours as it's not as long lasting as Lantus or Levemir.

The maximum dose for a cat in a day is 5mg, so that's why we say to cut the pill into 4 pieces.
The 1/4 tab will not last the whole day so it's convenient to give 1/4 am and pm, when you are giving Insulin shots and other meds.

You don't have to use brand name Pepcid AC, I use just a generic brand 10mg Famotidine tablets because they are half the price. It is called "Acid Control"
