    Hi,

Boomer has IBD and 90% of the time he's he's fine and doesn't puke - that's his primary symptom. This morning when I woke up he had puked over night in 3 places, all undigested food which is what he used to do when he wasn't on budesonide or pred. He now takes 1mg of bude every day with food and is generally fine. This morning he wasn't eating much and I was wondering if he may have a stomach ache  and if Pepcid would help him feel better.
Questions: when do you use pepsid? How much to you give? Do you mash it in food?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My vet prescribed 1/4 tablet, bid, half an hour before meals. It must be the Pepcid AC NOT the Pepcid Complete.

    1/4 of a 10mg tablet of 1/8 of a 20mg tablet.

Famotatine is the ingredient and most chain-store pharmacies have their own
    house brand of Acid Controller.

If it's the constipating form of IBD, I'd suggest using Zantac 75 instead of Pepcid (helps more with constipation). Same dosage -- 1/4 tablet BID. Otherwise, Pepcid is fine, dosage as others have said.
