Pepcid for civvie

Our civvie, Midgie has been grinding her teeth off and on since this summer. (She had been on antibiotics following lung surgery. Its the only thing that I can connect it to) I'm guessing it had to be tummy acid. The vet hasn't been able to decide what's up because she doesn't have any other symptoms. No vomiting or anything. I've been giving her slippery elm powder for a couple of months and its not helping at all. (ETA: she's had the full gamut of blood & urine work. No evidence of dental issues).

She's tiny, not even 6 lbs...Its safe to give her Pepcid, correct?

yes - you could give 1/4 tab Pepcid AC twice a day and see if that helps her.

What did she have lung surgery for??? just curious?

She had a primary tumor in her left lung. They removed the lobe at the end of June and at her 3 month check up, she got a clean bill of health! We'll get x-rays every 3 months for awhile, to make sure her lungs are clear.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.

I'm so happy for you. I have a kitty Fiona who had a primary tumor in her lung also. (adenocarcinoma) We just reached one year of clean xrays. Did your cat undergo chemo at all? Mine did for several months. (Carboplatin) We now go for xrays every 4 months.

Nope, no chemotherapy for Midgie. The surgeon and specialist are both confident that the cancer was localized to the tumor and they were able to remove all of it.
