1 minute to shot time and we're in a "special" weather statement area. Shot time is getting pushed back until the storm moves through! I don't dare tear apart her hiding spot, because if something terrible does happen, she is in the safest part of the house.

I hope the day is off to a better start for everyone else!

The storm is over on this end of town with only a few small branches down.

I hope you don't get any more damage. I heard that even bigger storms are going to fire up again tonight around 6pm. I'm glad I don't have tickets for that outdoor U2 concert tonight.

Peeps is a smart girl to find a hidy hole to ride out the storm in.

Looks like we're going to have a secondary line coming. I am thinking about putting on a sweat shirt... 60 degrees following 90 degrees is quite a difference. Hopefully Peeps will get brave before the second line, because this is perfect napping weather!

Peeps came upstairs for some food about 9 minutes after I posted. She let me quick test and shoot, then shortly after I heard the second line moving in and I got up from my almost nap to get her out of the window so she wouldn't hurt herself running for the basement. It's just not going to be a good day for kitties!

On an unrelated note, I am thrilled that I haven't ripped open my newest wound (again, I did it 24 hours ago and had ripped it open about 5 times yesterday). I was weeding yesterday when I grabbed a clump of what I thought was harmless greens. Turns out I grabbed some itch weed, and it ripped a line into my pinkie. I think it just so happened to be very close to a nerve, but my hands were covered in dirt and sweat, and I couldn't leave my tools in the area I was because I didn't want the animal to get hurt by them. Typically, I get wounds often while volunteering, especially hand wounds from knives so of course that was the first consensus, until I started weeping from the pain. Nothing like interrupting an important meeting by sobbing too loudly for it to continue

Michelle---don't buy a lottery ticket today!

I feel for you and the hand wounds. Last summer, I was trimming a hedge with a gas hedge trimmer...when I reached to pull a vine out of the hedge.....well, my hand slipped and went into the trimmer........I had to have two finger tips reattached.

And, yes it HURT! But, 12 months later--------- visually they look great and a lot of the nerves have regenerated! So, I was very lucky......

One more peice of advice, since my friends continually remind me of this......GLOVES!

Hope the weather and your wound gets better today!!!!

I usually wear gloves for such endeavors, but it was a last minute decision to do some quick cleanup so Rigo could see what was going on a wee bit better. They try to get me to wear safety glasses  But when your glasses fog up/get covered in sweat as fast as you put them on, they're more of a hinderance than an actual help. Nothing like stepping in a hole with a weed whip attached to you & not being able to see where you're gonna fall!

Oh PLEASE send some of those storms here to me in south central Oklahoma. Yes we were caught in the March tornado sweep but about now, I would gladly shake and shiver thru one. It's been over 102 degrees here for 26 days in a row with heat index over 110. I spend the days checking on babies that are outside, keeping cold water and sprays going and re-aiming fans as the sun/shade changes. Sending you lots of hugs while the boomer's go off.....follow Peep's lead and stay safe!

Hugs to All!

Sorry you guys are having such bad weather!
hopefully it will clear up soon
Hang in there!

and take care of your hand!

I hope your finger heals quickly, it sounds painful!

Kim, that's awful, glad they were able to reattach them!

Hopefully all is well by now & the storms are over! It has been HOT here, set a record of 103 yesterday & with the humidity it was awful!! It's supposed to "cool" down to 88 on Monday!!

6 minutes before the PM shot I hear CrrraaaCKKKKKKK from outside..... So I ran downstairs in hopes to intercept Peeps on her way to her hiding space. I almost missed her! In 4 mins I was able to snatch her, get all of her supplies, test her, shoot her, and send her on her way with 1 and a half hands.

We should petition for this to be an Olympic sport. No padding allowed... If the cat draws blood on her human: 5 second penalty. Human does not test blood: 13 second penalty.
