Peepee's first dose on Lantus

Hi everyone,
Peepee is back from the falls, after 4 years OTJ.We started a month ago on Prozinc, but since we are not familiar with it, we asked for Lantus. We thought the first dose should be .5 units. Question is we shot Prozinc this morning, could we shoot Lantus tonight or wait till morning. We we're hoping her preshot numbers would come down on Prozinc, but it hasn't, don't know if it will on Lantus this time, but hoping. I didn't like the idea of not shooting Prozinc below 200 if we ever get there. No other health issues, she had a UTI, but cleared up,might be back, but we need to get sugar down or it will continue.

What do you think about .5 and do we shoot tonight.

You should be good to go with the Lantus tonight since Prozinc is an in and out insulin it will be waning by the time you are ready to shoot tonight.

Sorry to hear you have sick civies as well, it is always so rough when our fur babies are sick.

I'm too new at all of this to offer any dosing advice, but I did want to say I'm sorry to hear about PeePee and your other sick kitties. Hope things get less stressful soon and that PeePee does well on the Lantus.
