Peeka 11/5 lower numbers, recent vomit

Hey everyone,

I was super surprised when I tested Peeka this afternoon and saw she was at 195 at +6, proof that the Prozinc is working the way it should. She even managed to make her way onto the ottoman when I was laying around. After dinner tonight though, she threw up some of her food and light brown bile along with it. I’m not sure if I should be concerned or not, she was still hungry right afterwards and even ate some more food. Really hoping it’s nothing serious.
 
No, that BG level of 195 mg/dL does NOT earn Peeka a dose reduction. The reduction point for the prozinc dosing protocol is <90 mg/dL when you are using SLGS ( <50 if using MPM).

Actually looking at Peeka's SS, it looks like she is due for a dose increase. She only switched to the Prozinc 5 days ago, so with the SLGS dosing protocol, a curve is due in 2 days, and then you will likely need to increase the dose by another 0.25U.

Here's hoping that Peeka's appetite gets better and the vomiting was only the single instance.

Going to try and run a curve on Sunday, although I may be able to do one during the evening. I seem to have forgotten that the Prozinc nadir is later than the Vetsulin, so I’ll try and test later.

she still has a healthy appetite so far. She munched down some Purebites, and I’ll give her another little snack in a bit. I’m just hyper sensitive to Peeka and any possible ailments.

Good for you THATS how you can track trends and get a full picture.

LOL I have to admit I got a slight thrill with the wrong thought process. Even if it was wrong I kinda got a high thinking of the possibilities. :p (thinking the insulin change made that much of a difference:rolleyes:) LOL I need to keep my excitement in check.:blackeye::facepalm::stop::rolleyes:
