Rollercoaster day yesterday with Peeka. She ate some dinner at 5ish, then wouldn’t eat anything else. She spend the rest of the evening drinking water and sleeping. At 2:30 I was woken by Peeka informing me she was hungry. Took her to food bowl and she ate, same thing just now. Woke up to her rubbing against wife’s crocs to get our attention for more food. AMPS 256, if I hadn’t known she was sick yesterday I would’ve thought nothing was ever wrong.

still on standby with the vet to see if they can squeeze her in. My sister goes in to work a little later than I do. But so far this morning she is acting like her normal cat self.

Morning Peter!
So GLAD Peeka is feeling better, I DO hope she can see the Vet. Even if shes acting better tell them all your concerns. Something is def. off.
FINGERS CROSSED its just a blip !

Please deliver some scritches to Peeks from all of us!:bighug:

Never did get a chance to get back in touch last night. In his defense, I called back about 45 minutes later and he still had a few more people to call. Her AMPS levels being low was both a relief and a shock, I was for sure they’d be higher. Given that she was not feeling well yesterday and possibly stressed, I’m sure that could have raised her levels though.

Still going to check in on her on my lunch break. Glad to see Peeka in the blue for as long as she has been, but still cautious about how low she possibly got. If I can get her to poop in the litter box for my sister or me when I go on my lunch break, and not with my wife, I will be a VERY happy camper. She has also been keeping her food down so far today, so I am very thankful for that as well.

I'll keep y'all updated what her levels are at after I get home. Hoping for smooth sailing this weekend since I won't be home as late tomorrow and don't want my wife to have to worry about her being sick. She seems to have regained her healthy appetite and was acting normal all this morning, food has been kept down and she was drinking regular amounts of water last night and this morning, hoping we are back on track after our detour last night!

Peeka +2 144 and then 110 30 minutes later
Very important reading to catch, Peter.

Now you can see why I said the other day that you don't have much room for manoeuvre left for safe dosing of Vetsulin, and also why it's important to have a decent safety margin at nadir.

Any feedback from the vet?

I already told my sister, but I need to give MAJOR props to my sister who did the test all by herself, first try. Peeka deserves her share of credit for being a sweet cat during it, but major thanks to sister for being brave and getting it done. So glad to have her around!

I do, todays dose was still at 2.5, I'm holding off on an increase until we get her all the way back on track. Hopefully, I should have some half days coming up here at work so I can go pick up some Prozinc.

I did get in touch with him after all. He felt that as long as she tested negative for ketones, was drinking properly, and was holding down her food, she should be alright. He told me to continue to monitor her through the weekend.
