Hey everyone,

crazy weekend for us. I tested as often as I was able to, but with both jobs having me work, it was crazy. Last night, Peeka started having somewhat loose stool again, and just not after taking her to the litter, it was mostly loose. Not sure if I should contact the vet again, we’ve been giving her probiotics as called for by the vet. No vomit and no nausea, everything else has been fairly normal.

FWIW: I placed her on our bed where she normally likes to lay and she has been trying to bite my hands when I scratch her belly, and when I was looking for the charger for my phone, she began pawing at it. She is currently rubbing against our dogs tail, so overall “normal” pre diabetic behavior.

Great job catching that 104 nadir, Peter. The pink a couple of readings later looks quite bouncy (unless Peeka got into any contraband!). It does mean, however that you don't really have any wriggle room in terms of adjusting the dose (dose needs to be reduced if nadir < 90, according to the FDMB Vetsulin guide). She's getting a very typical bucket-shaped response. Have you given any further thought to the insulin change?

Probably no harm giving the vet a ring about the loose stool to be on the safe side, Peter, particularly given the recent pancreatitis diagnosis.

Not sure what was going on today with Peeka. I had the day off and when I saw that 102 I panicked and fed her some food. Crazy day for us for sure!
Vet said to continue to monitor and if loose stool continues, to bring it in for a sample. Her appetite is still good, and we are noticing some of her old behaviors come back, despite her neuropathy not getting visibly better. I’m sure at this point it’s just a matter of time.
If our “normal” vet is agreeable, I think the Lantus will be the way to go. Unfortunately at this present moment, we are due our last few Dr. bills and sister in law wedding at the end of the month, so as soon as I can set aside the funds, I’ll be making the purchase.
