Peeka 10/1 Throwing up multiple times today

Lets see if I can find a proper helper. (were it me I'd do it. BUT I dont work. I can stay up as long as it takes to keep kitty safe)

Ugh I missed Elizabeth's post...I would think she'd say YES
 
Are you able to test Peeka during the night? I know its good practice for when the little one is here, but we dont want you burned out either. :p
 
One thing to note today: Peeka went potty normally yesterday a little bit earlier than normal, and other than her accidentally smothering some of it with her hind end and I cleaned her up, but she still cleaned herself as well. Then this morning, we woke up to her having gone poop in our room at around 5 am and I'm sure she spent a few minutes cleaning herself and there was some on her hind end again. My sister is reporting that when she got home today, there was some vomit or poo that smelled like it in our room. She is unsure if it was vomit or the other stuff, and she has thrown up again and she is telling me it smells like poop. I'm not sure if something needs to be given to her, or if this is just her body getting rid of her cleaning herself. Also, is there something to worry about with her frequency of going.

Also, just to note, pre diabetes, Peeka would occasionally throw up every few months or so. It was never anything to worry about as she would be fine right after.

Edit: As I was on the phone trying to get my sister to get Peeka to eat, she took her to the litter where she pooped again. Not sure what could be causing this.
 
I have heard of this before... Gastroenteritis?? Or..obstruction? something like that ... Peeka doesnt have any other symptoms so I doubt its either
Maybe it was just from washing herself.:(

Keep a close eye on her.

I dont know. Thats why I tagged Elizabeth if she doesnt know maybe she can think of someone else that has asked these questions.

I *think* I heard this topic here but its been awhile.
 
Peeka is keeping food down right? I mean if it was an obstruction you'd be on here asking why isnt she eating. The other option she doesnt sound like she has symptoms. Hopefully your sister just has a sensitive nose and is picking up the smell left in the room?
 
I think? It's hard to know since I'm not the one there and able to tell, but even if she did throw up her food, it would have been from 10 hours earlier, so I don't think so. I personally think it's just from her cleaning herself and her remnants.
 
Couple of important questions for you, Peter:

* To the best of my recall, I don't think Peeka has ever had DKA. Is this correct?

* Has Peeka ever tested positive for ketones?

* Do you have ketone test strips at home? If not, would you be able to pick some up on the way home?

Never tested positive for ketones or DKA. No strips at home but I could pick some up from a wal mart

spoke with vet. He wants me to get a BG level and then call him back. He thinks there’s a chance her licking herself after defecating and probably getting some in her stomach is causing issues.
