I am sad to say we went to the vet and they told me without testing they could tell me it was probably keadosis or pancreatitis. We could barely afford the food and insulin and there was no way they would even accept payments. So we made the hard choice to let her go with dignity and love. Thank you to everyone here for helping us through those dark first days you helped us have 6 more months with her.

I'm so sorry. Fly free, sweet Patches! Visit your mama bean in dreams to let her know you're okay.

She was so lucky to have you.

Fly Free Patches. Chase the butterflies and run in the meadows with the warm breezes and sunshine.
Know that Patches knows how much you love her right now. She will be waiting for your to join her one fine day with purrs and rubs and more purrs and headbutts :-D

I'm so sorry to hear you lost your sweet Patches. You worked so hard to help her into this sugar dance, with her multiple issues. Patches had a great mommy; she was such a lucky kitty.

Oh, I am so very sorry for your loss.
You did a wonderful job with Patches, and I'm sure she knew that she was dearly loved.
I hope the good memories you have of her will help to lighten your sadness.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Sue I did want to say a special thank you because you were the one that helped us learn what I needed to know. You took the scary and made it not so bad. I know I haven't been around much but that's because I am now doing full time student, homeschooling my son, taking care of my elderly mom and picking up odd jobs to bring in some extra money. Needless to say not enough hours in the day. Thank goodness for planners and alarms. The shots and snacks were the easiest parts of the day surprisingly enough but the chart didn't get updated sadly or you would get to see that she made great progress. I will keep checking in here during the summer, I am not knowledgeable enough to give advice but maybe I can encourage and cheer up people who need it.

It would be so nice if you could offer encouragement if you have time. Plus when you are ready you might want to adopt another diabetic cat, or offer your supplies to someone in need..

Sounds like you have your hands full right now.

((Hugs))
