Well, the amoxi seems to be having a good effect on the insulin. Her numbers this morning were 224 - 9am - gave her 2u. 4pm spot tested and she was 160. Just tested now and she was 207 and gave her 2u. She has been sleeping/resting in her new bed since 6pm when I gave her the amoxi. (It is 9pm now)...I basically did her testing now and insulin and she showed no interest in me!!!!

Still syringe feeding, but she had her first interest in food today when I brought my garlic cheese bread into the room she was in. Very slow progress, but I think it is progress nonetheless. Hopefully, she thinks so too!!!

KEEP ALL THE PRAYERS COMING - SHE IS STILL NOT OUT OF THE WOODS!!!! :banghead:

I sent you so much hope last night, and so many others. Typing with one eye closed at 2AM, just couldn't leave. Sounds like our cats; no to tuna, salmon, sardines. I smell cheese! Is she still fighting you on the syringe feeding? I know it's hard but you have so much support. Any more migraines? I'm wearing my Velcro ice-cold gel pack on my head right now, Immitrex next to the bed.

yes still fighting me on syringe feeding and yes, horrible headache today. i did take her in the bathroom with the shower on hot for the steam. she liked it for awhile but then wanted to go. not sure if it helped or not. she seems wheezy and congested worse today. could the amoxi be doing this??

Not likely. However, her cold - if that's what it is - could be caused by a virus and in that case an antibiotic won't help. Like a cold in people it has to run its course as you try too manage symptoms.

just wondering. sometimes when i take antiobiotics for sinus infection, it does thicken stuff up for awhile before it clears up. not sure why....i usually take the zpack...

Sinus infection is different. It's usually a bacterial infection that sets in because a virus-caused common cold has clogged up the sinuses allowing bacteria that are in there to multiply. It's possible that Patches has a bacterial infection secondary to what started as a viral respiratory infection.

Still fighting me on syringe feeding // horrible headache today // I did take her in the bathroom with the shower on hot for the steam. Could the amoxi be doing this??
Syringe feeding is like pulling a sliver from your child times a million. It's emotionally painful but it has to be done. You're doing the right thing.//HEADACHES I have Trigeminal neuralgia so I know how hard it can be. Are you doing this all by yourself?//The steam can't hurt, maybe it's the heat.//The Greek or Latin (whatever) for antibiotics is "against life". It's just one more problem you don't need right now but I would continue. Another member will have useful advice.
I'm just awful at advice. No emojis, no clever sayings. Please know so many of us are pulling for you and Patches. It's rock-hard science that Faith in any form does help. Keep going!

Wouldn't be a bad thing to get her on a probiotic since she's taking antibiotics. FortiFlora

Justs heads up! Don't feed her anything with garlic...it is toxic to cats!!!

Can't find it, looked in Prayers as well. What's important is Patches and you. We're all going to dream about Patches tonight and in five hours the sun comes up. We will ALL still be here; me and our six and you and Patches. I've heard tugging on a cat's ear cause an endorphin release, works with Noah. Give Patches a little tug and a head scratch from me. Will you be okay for the night?
