This afternoon, I noticed my cat was wobbly and twitching while standing at the food bowls and sometimes tipsy while walking. Tail down and ear down. Seemed to be breathing a little hard.

Took her to vet and of course, when he got there, none of her symptoms were showing. She looked completely normal.

Vet did blood work and complete exam. Temp normal and said she has lots of brown gook in her ear and a glob by her outer ear by her eardrum. He tested for mites and it came up clear. All her blood work was normal also.

She is eating and drinking but not as much as usual. She seems very agitated too - walking all around the house. nailbite_smile

He gave me otomax for ear and amoxicillin.

Does this sound normal? Anyone used this medicine?

Amoxicillin is a common, general purpose antibiotic. Otomax is a It is a combination steroid, antibacterial, and antifungal ear medication. Thus it tends to raise BG especially in a diabetic cats.

Its good you went to the vet. One of the things that can cause difficulty standing and walking is a mild stroke.

As noted, topical steroids may elevate the glucose somewhat, depending on your cat's sensitivity. You might check back with the vet to see if that part of the treatment is necessary. It is intended to help control inflammation and itching, so if you can remove a lot of the gunk from the ears which can cause that, it may be possible to use something without steroid in it.
