Didn't end up getting to start the sliding scale because I ended up having to be gone most of the day. Might have to be gone tomorrow won't know till about 8am so at this point I am hoping to start this sometime by Saturday at least. When I will be home to monitor her. A couple of quick questions what is a skinny and a fat dose? I see these on ss and not sure what they are. Also I was thinking of making their food starting next month anything other than the stuff on catinfo.org I should know? I will be using bone meal as there is no way a grinder that can handle bone is in the budget.

I consider it a skinny dose if I draw up a certain amount and then drip out a few drops. A fat would drawing a certain amount plus a touch more...
I don't know anything about making your own food. I have guard time getting food made for the humans in this place! :)

Have you read what Dr. Pierson said about making cat food? She has a whole section about it at catinfo.org. Can't copy and paste on this stupid phone!!

You may have read it already but that's the first place I would check. I think its a great idea!! Since I tend to be inept in the kitchen, I haven't tried it. Let me know how it goes if you do!

I agree with how to do skinny and fat dose.

As for making your own food >>> In my house...if human food can't be popped into the microwave and be done in 15 minutes, a huge salad or bowl of cereal & almond milk is the meal.

Ok thanks now I know how to mark those couple of times on the ss.

Oh you guys need to come to my house for food then. I am a true southern momma and will feed you up as they say here. I spend a day or two a month batch cooking then toss it all in the freezer to heat up later. Right now I have 10 lbs of shredded chicken cooked up, 5 huge bags of chicken drop soup, 3 casseroles, 5 lbs of precooked hamburger meat, 3 bags of chicken strips in marinades, 4 big bags of wendy's chili clone and 40 arby's clone sandwiches in the freezer. Plus 4 rolls of homemade cookie dough. I love my food but hate having to cook every night this way its heat it up or it cuts the time in the kitchen drastically since the meat is already cooked.
