Still struggling with Monty - is now on low carb wet food (as from last night) and this morning his BG is still 27 (two down from yesterday morning which was 29.4). During yesterday's curve his lowest was 20.

Am starting to panic that he's got agromegaly or something - can anyone help/calm me down?!!

My cat was 431 this morning, and that doesn't make me happy, either.

I'm glad you are testing. That is a big step.

I'm glad he has been switched over to low carb wet food. That's another big step.

Now, if you could get everything together on a spreadsheet, here is a link on how to do it http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=18207
It would be great if you could get a spreadsheet set up on Google Docs, so we could see the numbers all in one place, the way we're used to looking at them, and then we could maybe help you with dosing questions.

Have you been checking for Ketones at least daily?

I know it's tough, especially in the beginning. You've already gotten to the hurdles down (testing, and switched to LC).
We'll help you. :YMHUG: Hang in there, okay?

Dyana - thank you!!!

Just done another test (yes I will do the spreadsheet too) at +4 hours - down to 17!! This is the lowest he's been since diagnosis and hopefully should drop a bit more later (lowest yesterday was at +8) so the wet food option is definately helping.

The folks here always tell me to put my patience pants on - . Sometimes it takes a bit for things to settle down. You're on the right path. You're working with the right people on this message board. You ARE helping your kitty to feel better. Hang in there!

Don't forget- it can sometimes take days for carbs to leave a kitty body or it could happen overnight  .

My Sneakers would hold onto those darned high numbers for three or four days she was so carb sensitive. And any change between 0% carb to a 2% carb would rocket her up. I ended up just choosing one % and sticking with it for a whole month to level her off.

Give it time. Keep testing. Checking for ketones would be prudent as well.
