When Sheba gets pancreatitis she goes off her food ( nausea), appears uncomfortable, gets lethargic, gets dehydrated, has tender tummy.
Sometimes has a temperature. Sometimes vomits. Sometimes has a loose poop. But not always.
Treatment for Sheba is SubQ flds to correct the dehydration, something for the pain, injection for the nausea. Then hopefully she will feel like eating a few hours later. Needs encouragement for a few days though.
If it is severe they may have to stay at the vets, but I usually take Sheba home unless she is very unwell.
Some people have the antinausea tablets at home.
There is a blood test the vet can do to confirm it is pancreatitis.

Squeaker had pancreatitis so often that we just did the snap test, the other Spec fPLI is more expensive.

In addition to fluids, anti nausea, and pain meds; I found that 1/4 of a 10 mg famotidine (regular Pepcid---best if given at bedtime) and a B12 injection worked wonders.
