Ozzie vomited this morning shortly after eating. He's now having very watery stools and vomited mucus. Should I be concerned? Wondering if it's a food thing.

No insulin still

Vivian,
Important question..... any abnormal color in the stools? Any pink color to the vomit?
Stool color and consistency are indicators of what the problem might be.

Is it too late to go to the vet tonight? If it was just vomit or just diarrhea, it could be something like a hairball or upset tummy. Don't like both at once.

Vomit this morning was the same color as his food. Stools have been light colored and watery. Clear mucus a little while ago.

Unfortunately the reg vet is closed now and only the ER vet is open. Not sure if he needs to go tonight anywhere. Hrs acting pretty normal considering.

I've been feeding fancy feast classics, wellness grain free and DM. They had some turkey or chicken wellness last night not sure if that did it.

Behavior is a big part of the equation. If he is acting okay, maybe just watching him tonight will work. Glad we don't have insulin in the picture to complicate things.

If the food was something new, it could cause the diarrhea. And the vomiting possibly. If you don't see red or pink coming out of either end, that is a good thing. Those could indicate an intestinal infection. Keep an eye on this. If he continues to vomit, a vet visit is the way to go. It could indicate some sort of blockage and it could get worse very quickly. Is it just Ozzie or is anybody else sick? If it's just Ozzie, then that should rule out something being wrong with their food (like it was "bad" or something)
