well... Ozzie had a bout with diahrrea last week. I had fed him some wellness during the episode last week, so after I stopped that and just gave fancy feast, a few days later he was fine.

He has diahrrea again :( saw some loose stools in the box, and just saw him go 15 mins ago. He also just went into the box and cried and nothing came out.

I fed some FF chunky this week, which they loved it's pate with some chunky pieces in it. Seeing how he's been eating other kinds of FF for a while now, not sure if the food is causing it.

His bg numbers have gone up a little over the past week... about 100 now.

Thinking maybe a vet trip is in order. Is it ok to wait till tomorrow??? The crying is unusual. The reg vet won't be able to do any diagnostics outside of taking blood work. There's an ER vet, but it would be expensive to bring him tonight.

Not sure if this is related to his diabetes or not, but I don't want to get squeezed at the vets. Is there anything I should ask about when I am there?

Are there any foods good for diabetic cats with sensitive stomachs?

I am sorry this is happening to Ozzie. With the improvement last week, it did sound food related. But I don't like to hear that he is crying when he tries to go. If he is in pain, there could be something seriously wrong. I hope others will have more experience and advice than I.

I don't have experience for you and I wish you the best, but I have heard that the FF Chunky Chicken and Chunky Turkey varieties have Wheat Gluten in them and some cats don't tolerate that to well.. I only feed it on very rare occasions, and my cats seem to do okay.
FortiFlora is good for diarreha issues. I hope it passes very quickly and he feels all better again, soon.

I'd bet he's crying because his bum hurts. if he's not making repeated trips to the litterbox, i'd say that's probably it. and if so, maybe a warm very soft wet cloth gently to his bum may help. and a vet visit to get something to settle his GI tract, maybe something like Flagyl

if he's making repeated trips to the box and nothing's coming out, i'd be more concerned and probably wouldn't wait too long for a vet visit.

my Yoda had a problem a year or so ago. quick repeated trips to the box. only a drop or two of diarhea like stool would come out, there was a little blood, and she cried a little, even making herself vomit at one point. my fear was she was blocked so off to the vet we went. turns out she was diagnosed with colitis. she was given a few meds to take for a week or so to help settle her GI tract and we stay away from beef or fish for her because both can cause upset her.

Thanks all for the replies!

Oz man goes to the vet at 4pm, hoepfully we can get something to settle him down. I'll check into the FortiFlora too.

Cattro sometimes cries in her litter box too - sometimes i gently wipe her bottom with cottonwool and vaseline or warm water. when runny I give her a bit of Milk of Magnesia or Kaolin or ready made mixture such as Provita and feed more dry.

Good luck, what did the vet say?
